By Vaikunthnath Das
This book is a valuable treasure for the devotees and well-wishers of the His Divine Grace A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Founder-Acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. This book delves into the memories and pastimes of His Divine Grace during his earthly pastimes.
Below are some excerpts from the book :
"This freedom from lamentation should not be confused with carelessness. While Srila Prabhupada was completely free of lamentation, he was also careful because he saw everything as Krishna's property. I remember one occasion when Srila Prabhupada entered the temple room; to pay my respects I began to bow down intending to put my head to the floor. Srila Prabhupada's eyes widened as he mentioned me to stop. Strapped around my back was a clay mridanga drum. Srila Prabhupada instantly recognized that when i bowed down the drum might flip forward and crack on the floor. Srila Prabhupada wanted to carefully protect the drum, as it was a valuable instrument in Krishna's service".
"The Dallas center was located in a large old church building. It housed the ISKCON Gurukula. My memory here is how Srila Prabhupada showed the perfect example of how to treat children, i.e., with overflowing love and kindness! He was like a loving grandfather to these children. Srila Prabhupada set the right example in the kindly way he interacted with these young boys and girls, passing out rasgullas and cookies to each and everyone, and expressing great warmth and affection for them. We should never be harsh with children, just kind and loving"
