The many-headed naga (serpent) named Kaliya threatened the
inhabitants of Vrindavan. To punish the creature, Krishna danced playfully on
top of his many heads until the naga's wives begged for mercy. This famous
pastime shows Krishna's love for the residents of Vrindavan and the love that
they have for him.
